Cristiano Ronaldo has been named as the highest-paid sportsman on the planet following his switch to Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo swapped Manchester United for Al-Nassr in January following his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan. The Portuguese megastar is reported to be on £175million-per-year with his new outfit, enough to see him top the table.

According to Forbes, Ronaldo has now raked in $136million (£107million) over the past 12 months – topping their rich list for a third time. Ronaldo’s eye-watering income is also the most the list has ever seen, with the majority of his income coming from brand deals off the pitch. He has a total net worth of around £400million.

Interestingly, it’s footballers that round out the top three with PSG duo Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe finishing second and third.

Reports from Spain have started to suggest Ronaldo already wants out of Saudi Arabia, just months after joining his new side.

Spanish paper El Nacional are reporting Ronaldo is looking to leave in the summer – with his stunning WAG, Georgina Rodriguez, desperate to return to Madrid. Ronaldo and Georgina first met in Madrid, when Georgina worked at Gucci.

However, the paper suggests Florentino Perez is open for Ronaldo to return to Real Madrid, but not as a player.
