Arsenal supporters have called for the “embarrassing” fan who shined a green laser pointer into the face of Mykhailo Mudryk to be banned for life from all Emirates fixtures

Arsenal supporters have lashed out at the Emirates spectator who shined a green laser pointer in the face of Mykhailo Mudryk.
The Ukrainian was targeted by the laser during the closing stages of their 3-1 Premier League win over Chelsea – months after he almost joined the Gunners from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The laser was seen on the face and body of the 22-year-old as he tried to get Chelsea back into the game, with Arsenal fans left fuming and even embarrassed.
One Arsenal fan said: “Whoever is putting the green laser on Mudryk you’re dumb. Just make the club look bad.”
A second agreed: “Yes we don’t like Mudryk, but the laser lights are unacceptable! Embarrassing..”
A third posted: “Whoever is shining that laser on mudryk needs throwing out the ground and giving a banning order.”

A fourth agreed: “Hope whoever started shinning that laser at mudryk gets banned for life.”
Back in 2021, England’s Football Association were hit with a £26,000 fine after a laser was used on Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel during their Euro 2020 semi-final.
Last season a similar incident took place at Villa Park as Aston Villa took on Leeds, with Raphinha targeted while taking a corner.

Mudryk has had a nightmare start to life at Chelsea after signing an eight-and-a-half-year contract for an initial fee of around £62million.
Chelsea are yet to comment on the incident having slipped to a 3-1 defeat at the Emirates after a first-half capitulation.
Martin Odegaard scored twice with Gabriel Jesus also on target, with Noni Madueke grabbing a second-half consolation.
